The piece I posted "Without God...i am abandoned" was as finished as I could make it before the deadline of a contest. It was a piece that was many years in the creating and yet I just was not satisfied with it...and yet was as satisfied as I could be at the moment.
Well, it "failed" at it's submission, and so I "published" it on this site...and then I took it to writer's group, of which I was a new member, and asked their opinoin. It was really good feedback...both encouraging and helpful (I hope). I made a few changes from their constructive critiques or "repetition" and "confusion"...yet was very encouraged from the critiques of the depressing nature...the hopelessness of the piece...because that is the point...for without God, without the guidance of our Supreme Being, the Creator of all, aren't we all without hope? With a feeling of abandonment?
Anyhow, while realizing that my listeners/readers "got it" but didn't wish to "get it", the poem "we want it all" came along. So here are two poems--a re-write and a new one. I hope you enjoy some thoughts and reflections.
